Dr. Stacy J. Hamlet brings a unique, global perspective and a deep commitment to patient care to the Conejo Valley. Originally born in Fargo, North Dakota, she grew up locally in Simi Valley. After graduating from Simi Valley High School, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCLA.
Driven by a passion for culture and travel, Dr. Hamlet spent several years working and living abroad, including a year in Tokyo, Japan (彼女は日本語を話そうとしています!) and an extended stay in Edinburgh, Scotland (Tha gaol agam air Edinburgh!). Upon returning to California in 1992, she initially worked with family in retail management in Thousand Oaks. However, her true calling drew her toward healthcare—a field where she could combine clinical expertise with direct patient care.
In 1997, she relocated to Boston to attend the prestigious New England College of Optometry. Her time in Boston proved life-changing; not only did she earn her Doctor of Optometry degree, but she also met her future husband and business partner, Dr. Jason Griffith. While in optometry school, she was awarded the Hymen R. Kamens Achievement Award for her dedicated volunteer work as President of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH).
After marrying in 2000 and graduating in 2001, the doctors returned home to Thousand Oaks to establish both their family and their joint optometry practice. They have two grown children, Connor and Miranda, and numerous pets. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hamlet is an adventurous traveler (36 countries and counting!), film enthusiast, and amateur photographer. An avid hiker and sprint triathlete, she stays active in the community and enjoys training at Fitness 19, where she balances weight training, spin, and yoga. She and her husband are especially proud of their volunteer work for OneSight, a non-profit that brings eye exams and glasses to 140 countries worldwide.
